Sweet Mints

Sorry I haven’t posted in a while.  Things have been nuts around my life.  I’ve been wanting to do a soccer post, so here it goes.  My littlest one loves to play soccer.  She has played the last 3 years.  She told me once that she wanted to play until she was grown.  It’s good to have goals!  (Get it?  Soccer – goals)  Yeah, yeah I know that was cheesy!!

This little gal blows me away.  She is tiny but is not afraid to get in the thick of it.  Here she is surrounded by four players from the opposite team, but she keeps fighting.  You go girl!!

Each girl usually has a period where they have to sit out.  They have to occupy themselves somehow!!

McQueen Benefit

Back in June Misperception was invited to play at the Steve McQueen Auto Show and Benefit for a boys ranch.  They were 1 of 3 bands that played that day!  The cars were great, but Misperception was better!!  They totally rocked the place!  Thanks to Scott for adding the band name to the red wall!!

One Way

Misperception’s singer also creates music on her own.   A while ago, she asked me to shoot some photos for her album cover.  She already had an idea in her mind of what she was going for and what she needed.  I thought, cool!  This was a new area for me.  I’ve shot portraits, headshots, and plenty of band shots.  But I had not had an assignment quite like this.  She titled her album One Way.   So I needed to find a one way sign.  I thought, piece of cake.  Come to find out, it was a little harder than I thought.  I ended with 2 signs very close to my home but not easily accessible.

The sign below was on a curve going back under the freeway and close to an exit ramp off the freeway.  It was hilarious dodging the cars.  Her mom was laughing at me.  Heck, I had to laugh at myself and apologize by waving at the cars when I ran out of their way.  It made for a really FUN photo shoot!!

Growing Up!

•September 13, 2010 • 4 Comments

I’m completely convinced that the older we get, the faster time flies!  Maybe it’s because we have so many more responsibilities as adults.  Whatever the reason, it has been on my mind a lot lately.  My daughters and I were discussing what grade each of them would be in in 3 years.  One in 5th, one in 8th (both having a graduation), and my son will be in his first year of college.  That literally almost took my breathe away.  If you know me personally, then you know that I am a big, giant sap.  So, when this dawned on me, I had to fight back the tears and get myself under control.  My daughter isn’t embarrassed of me except when she thinks I’m going to blubber.  🙂  We proceeded to get her into school.  Then a mom was dropping of her child.  The little boy that got out of that car reminded me so much of my son.  He had to be in 1st or 2nd grade.  The resemblance was just to much for me.  The flood gates opened.  Luckily, my daughter was safe and embarrass-free inside the school.

So, I thought it only fitting to post about my “sappy mom” experience.  I hope you enjoy the photos.  He is one gorgeous guy (not kid anymore) if I do say so myself, and I DO!!
